Instances of politicalization and bias have raised questions about the fairness and impartiality of our federal law enforcement agencies.

To rebuild confidence, comprehensive reform is imperative and should be aimed at ensuring equal treatment under the law.

Today, I am calling for reform and a refocusing of priorities for federal law enforcement.

I believe that Donald Trump has done great harm to federal law enforcement and our rule of law with his self-serving claims.

Ronald Reagan appointed me as the youngest US Attorney in the nation.

During that time, President Reagan made a historic decision to have the FBI play a role in drug enforcement.

Then, as Administrator of the DEA, I remember the focus of the FBI changing to counterterrorism.

I’m just a few moments, I’ll start my press conference at @PressClubDC regarding my plan to reform federal law enforcement.

Stay tuned to this thread to read highlights of my remarks as well as what is included in my plan.
