Additionally, there must be a due process review when an important Freedom or property interest is negatively impacted by government action.

This includes “shadow banning” which is currently used to pressure private companies to ban individuals from banking, social media, etc.

2. Hold the FBI Accountable for the Protection of Privacy and Civil Liberties

Office of Privacy and Civil Liberties within the FBI’s General Counsel office elevated to the Director’s office.

Director will be required to meet with the Gang of 8 regularly.

1. Eliminate Drug Enforcement Responsibilities From the FBI

The FBI must be more focused and accountable. That does not mean that it should be eliminated, but it’s overall mission should be reduced.

All drug enforcement should be transferred to the DEA.

There are over 90 federal law enforcement agencies with authority to carry firearms and make arrests.

The result of overlapping jurisdiction results in too much spent on turf battles, too many agents in the same room on minor cases, and a lack of focus on important cases.

To rebuild confidence, comprehensive reform is imperative and should be aimed at ensuring equal treatment under the law.
