That’s ridiculous. Bari’s obvious ambition from the start was to build a large traditional news outlet in the independent space. She’s the only one who’s pulled it off - if @ggreenwald built a newsroom I’d be saying he should get it, but none of us went that way, while she did.

her audience size does not warrant such a large buyout. it is not even close to meritocratic. seems like there is good evidence it is for propagandistic reasons. cf @ggreenwald
