Interesting note: JFK was planning something called The Alliance for Progress, which would have been like a Marshall Plan for Latin America. LBJ revoked it, giving the green light to US corporations to basically raid Latin America instead. 3/3

We have to treat root causes!
Our Drug War fuels the drug cartels; their violence leads to a lot of the immigration to America. And our economic policies for decades have helped destabilize Latin American economies. That too helped create all this. 2/3

Obviously our immigration system was a mess for years, and both parties are to blame. But an $8B bipartisan bill was set to create needed infrastructure at the border when Biden was Prez; Trump told GOP Senators to nix it because it would have given Biden a win. 1/3
