@theunrealcitynj I agree — there are courses in NY that nobody ever talks about that would be the best course in many other states. When golf became popular people built courses where there was the money to do it, and the greater NY area was the top spot during the 1900-1929 era. They got great

@RonDeSantis C has so many courses that are great that people don’t know very well - Piping Rock, Plainfield, Maidstone, Sleepy Hollow, Somerset Hills. All of which would be better known in places other than C, D or H!

I’d choose D largely for non-golf reasons, but you can make a great case for C, D or H.

C has the best stretch of golf in the US (Long Island), arguably the greatest course in the world (Pine Valley), and historic major championship venues (Oakmont, Merion, Winged Foot, etc).
