@MikeGrunwald It's always a crap shoot. At the four person Denver show the staff were so embarrassed for me they came down into the basement and tried to look like members of the public, God bless them. But that reading's genuinely one of my favourite memories of my American Potter tours,

@jk_rowling OMG. That gives us all hope! David Von Drehle had his first talk for his (amazing) first book at City Lights in SF - they set up 60 chairs and zero were filled.

@MikeGrunwald I had four people at a reading in Denver in 1999. It was brilliant, we all just gathered at the front and had a chat. The lovely person from my publisher was livid, but I couldn't stop laughing thinking about Artie Fufkin, Polymer Records.
