@GallopingGhos11 There is a documentary on either Amazon or Netflix called “Fastball” that provides the overview. Basically, Nolan Ryan hitting 100mph on the old ray gun = 108mph on today’s guns

@RonDeSantis Interesting point. I always wonder why every HS kid now throws at least in the 80s, some in the 90s. Radar changed, huh?

@RonDeSantis I thought he was mid to high 90s, which today wouldn't even be exceptional.

I saw Brien Taylor pitch in the Florida State League after he got drafted #1. You couldn’t really even see the ball it was moving so fast. Wasted talent.

@RonDeSantis @@rondesantis there is an evolution that has always been apparent in baseball. From Walter Johnson to Satchell Paige and Bob Feller to Ryan and Randy Johnson. Then we have the what ifs like JR Richard and Brein Taylor.

All of these men are outliers and surely there will be more

The statement is part of a lighthearted conversation about baseball and pitching speeds, specifically discussing the evolution of radar technology and its impact on measuring pitch speed. It does not engage with public issues or societal concerns, and thus does not constitute public discourse.
