@elonmusk Elon, wow the energy distribution aspect is interesting. This changes the calculus for some company’s plans. I can also imagine at some point more compute will process through Optimus than perhaps any other local platform.

@BrianRoemmele Given that far more electricity is accessible on a distributed vs centralized basis, AI edge compute on Earth’s surface will probably be >90%.

Serious AI scaling that actually registers on the K2 level at all must of course be done in space.

@elonmusk Elon, this is quite an iteration! I imagine the AI6 will allow for more tokens to operate locally to allow for higher response times in car/robot. I wonder when we get to the point where there’s more tokens operating locally than cloud? I can’t see any other company even close to

@BrianRoemmele Slightly different versions of the Tesla AI5 chip will be made at TSMC and Samsung simply because they translate designs to physical form differently, but the goal is that our AI software works identically.

We will have samples and maybe a small number of units in 2026, but high
