@GaryMarcus You can at least first make toy models for much cheaper and compare their relative performance to smaller LLMs

If anyone wants to put up $1B, I am happy to lead the effort.

My impression though is that no VC is bold enough to give serious funding to anything that isn’t firmly in the current paradigm, despite increasing signs of trouble.

@GaryMarcus I'm skeptical that this is true - but if it is, why wouldn't you get a billion dollars or so in seed funding and start a company that can make an actually successful, working, and trustable AI?
