@Dr_Cuspy @GaryMarcus @anilkseth I agree that the general purpose information processing capability of the brain is what gives it intelligence, as opposed to innate "programs."

But I'm not sure if I'd tie the definition to autonomy.

@Sauers_ @GaryMarcus @anilkseth Some expertise comes from genetics and emerges during development of tissue under normal conditions. Many creatures have innate skills like this. The blind watchmaker of evolution.

It's what the creature autonomously does with it that determines intelligence levels. Makes sense?

@GaryMarcus @anilkseth There is no intersection of neuroscience and what is called "AI". Neuroscience has the only access to any form of actual intelligence.

It's like a bunch of folk making flight simulators claiming they are the ground zero of artificial flight.
