@GaryMarcus @AlanDersh @JonathanTurley @realDonaldTrump is allowed to compete free from state interference in the November election -something is increasingly unlikely the closer we get to the election- the real end to democracy could com from turning the United States into a banana republic.

@GaryMarcus must be skeptical of Jack Smith and the motivations behind the different indictments. I trust the judgement of @AlanDersh and @JonathanTurley . Both see political motivation on all charges filed against Trump both at the state and federal levels. Unless @realDonaldTrump ....

Some of the scariest paragraphs I have ever read in the New York Times. A few idiosyncratic judges could end democracy as we know it.

The statement 'A president with absolute immunity is (or can at will be) a dictator. Period. No checks, no balances, no democracy.' engages in public discourse by addressing the issue of presidential immunity and its implications for democracy. The statement is direct and uses strong language to emphasize the potential dangers of unchecked presidential power.
