@marwilliamson It’s only allowed to be stolen by politicians printing more of it. No corporation can force you to buy from them. If they couldn’t lobby the government for subsidies they wouldn’t make it unless they provided a great product for the right price.

@CallahanAutoCo When policy after policy (starting with unfair taxation) makes it easier for those who already have capital to create more of it and harder for everyone else to simply get by, the problem is not that there’s not enough money. The problem is that it’s being systematically stolen.

@marwilliamson I don’t want to “oppress” anyone but if there’s not enough resources for everyone, how does a politician magically make more? By printing more money? You could steal from the rich but then no one would be motivated to make more actual product cause they can’t get rich

@CallahanAutoCo Adam Smith said free market capitalism cannot exist outside an ethical context. Math is a servant, not a master. It doesn’t force you to economically oppress people; it can just as easily support you in lifting them up.

@marwilliamson We only have so many resources for so many people. Math is important. It’s very important that prices reflect actual supply and demand or we just create a house of cards.
