@GaryMarcus @elonmusk @leopoldasch I agree with Gary that AGI “could definitely happen by 2040”…. …to the same degree that “the laws of physics permit all of the oxygen molecules to suddenly migrate to a corner of my room, thereby suffocating me” could definitely happen. Are either of these events probable?…

Clarification from Ray Kurzweil: He is still predicting AGI 2029, per an email he just sent me. (details in link).

A few clear, specific predictions I have heard
@elonmusk: end of 2025
@leopoldasch: 2027
Kurzweil: 2029

The statement in question, '🤣,' is a lighthearted, comical response to a conversation about the predictions of AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) timelines.
