Both major parties are filled with people so emotionally buffered from the suffering of their fellow citizens they think such cynical thoughts as “Well, those people don’t vote anyway.”
But why would they? They will vote when they feel they have something to vote FOR.

The problem with our political elite is that they fail to recognize the despair - particularly economic despair - that pervades whole swaths of American society. One party sees it and preys on it. The other hardly see it at all.

Donald Trump offers false hope to people, but for many false hope is better than no hope at all. The key to defeating Trump in November is to offer real hope to people who in today’s America feel none.
