@GaryMarcus @tunguz I don't disagree that they're a fraud, or that Sam Altman isn't a snake oil salesman. But there are different levels, they're not remotely on the same level imo. Although the pure financial harm might be greater with OpenAI given the bubble... they weren't misdiagnosing cancer.

@tunguz @GaryMarcus Theranos was an outright fraud that never produced a working product for anything. Not even close. It actually lead to real patients being misdiagnosed with cancer among other things.

Open AI has overpromised and mislead, and is extremely shitty, but they aren't comparable.
