I take this for granted, too, @paulg:

Someday AI will write most code.

Someday AI drive most cars.

Someday AI will replace most radiologists.

But Someday isn’t Now and isn’t Soon.

Consistently pretending that reliable general-purpose AI isn’t fiendishly hard and well beyond…

I met a 19 year old yesterday who'd been using AI to write code since he was 16. It was not an advance to him. It was just how programming is done. He took it for granted that AI will eventually write most code.
