@RickFernandes90 The blood that was spilled was by the oppressor against the oppressed, not by the oppressed against anyone . That non-violence on the part of the movement is what aroused the conscience of the country and paved the way for success to happen.

@marwilliamson The Civil Rights movement was not nonviolent and elegant in anyway. Much blood was shed, may be not in the same capacity as the Civil War, but it was shed nonetheless resulting in Kings murder.
