@pwlot @MonkeyDevGuy @GaryMarcus Not only will there not be another AI winter, the advances are accelerating exponentially because it’s recursively catalyzing. The only thing that can slow it down is humans who try to stop it. Sad fact is that every day we are delayed will cost many lives that AI can save.

@DeryaTR_ @MonkeyDevGuy @GaryMarcus Gary has also insisted on AI Winter likelihood, and how it's a bubble and things will fail. OpenAI failing as a company, but xAI or Anthropic taking over the mantle, is a loss for Gary all the same in my book.

If AI Winter of any sort like we had would happen due to capability…

@DeryaTR_ @pwlot @GaryMarcus LLMs can only go so far. OpenAI is not the only one having a performant one. And we have yet to measure the long term impact of this technology.
I use LLMs, but why pay OpenAI when there are very good free ones? And self hosted so no security issue.
