@GaryMarcus @tszzl @rao2z @fchollet o1 is a different kind of language model that consumes "reasoning tokens." It's not the same as a vanilla LLM, hence the reference to Large Reasoning Models.

Whether or not o1 is fairly considered a language model depends on what it’s inside. As @fchollet and @rao2z have both suggested, o1 is probably not a pure LLM.
