@GaryMarcus I can think of two causes.
1. This truck went off-roading in the desert and slammed down hard on the undercarriage, causing a crack in a battery subunit. Drove back, and air leaking in caused ignition. (This crack problem is why you can't take large batteries on airliners.)…
