@jeremydgriffin @marwilliamson Yes, corporations donate to both sides in hopes of tilting things in their own favor and I'm sure have some favorite Dems. But most of the benefits ordinary Americans get from tax dollars, and environmental and workplace protections, come from Democratic initiatives back to FDR.

@marwilliamson Well then, the Republicans. The protections we do have in those areas we owe to Democrats, not that they're always angels. Try to push public protections further than the absolute minimum that the public demands in order to not turn into revolutionaries, Republicans intercede.

Wealth inequality led to this. Lack of healthcare led to this. Lack of education led to this. Unfair taxation led to this. Toxic food and air led to this.
Anyone in a position to fix those things over the last 40 years who failed to do so, created the ground for this.
