You just read the headlines like all consumers. Cubism was based on Paul Cézanne, African and Iberian art and other precedents.

You just don't know, because you are not an artist. You believe in magic apparently.

@alexutopia Picasso’s cubism wasn’t much like anything he had seen before.

@tmorello made a new kind of music - basically DJ music on guitar - that he had never heard before.

Sgt Pepper was inspired by Pet Sounds but didn’t sound like Pet Sounds. A day in the life didn’t sound like any

@GaryMarcus Personally I don't see the difference. And I'm an artist since I can walk upright. Looking at these tools, all I see is them doing exactly what we do.

If that’s all they do, they aren’t considered great.
