Most of this could have been written after ELIZA, in 1965.

ELIZA wasn’t conscious, and nor is ChatGPT.


ELIZA’s apparent emotions were an illusion of mimicking human language; so are ChatGPT’s.


My guess: the subtext to all this is that AI-induced delusion is becoming a
