@robinhanson @GaryMarcus In terms of cognitive architecture, motivations, emotions, social instincts etc, LLMs are far less like humans than any random evolved extraterrestrial intelligences are likely to be.

They aren't just aliens. They're hyper-aliens.

If we can wait just a few centuries to work on ASI alignment before developing ASI, that would be prudent.
