This is such a terrible thing to read this morning. We've been blessed to get to know Ben a bit over the years. He has integrity. He's shown real moral courage. He's thoughtful. And he's genuinely fun and kind. May God bless, comfort, and strengthen Ben and his family.

This is a tough note to write, but since a bunch of you have started to suspect something, I’ll cut to the chase: Last week I was diagnosed with metastasized, stage-four pancreatic cancer, and am gonna die.

Advanced pancreatic is nasty stuff; it’s a death sentence.
