@WaywardWestern1 @GaryMarcus @elonmusk @ylecun Elon is never ever going to put a human on Mars. Almost every expert on exoplanetary ecology knows that such a feat will NOT be attainable in this lifetime, and if it does happen, it will no doubt be a disaster. I would be happy to run down why, it just won't fit in one tweet.

@GaryMarcus @elonmusk @ylecun Yeah I definitely disagree with his insinuation that Elon as an inventor won’t be as strong of a legacy as pioneering new science. If Elon is able to create the 1st outposts of humanity on other planets, it truly puts his name among the most influential people to ever live.

@WaywardWestern1 @elonmusk @ylecun right, but the point I was making is that he tried to tilt their conversation unfairly into his own territory and wildly overvalued journal publications relative to other kinds of contributions in order to make himself look important.
