@GaryMarcus @elonmusk The complaint is that there is an OS Level service which has *access* to all device data, and with a sole function to share data to chatGPT. That in itself is a problematic implementation. If its all local models, great, but then why use ChatGPT's name? Hence the problem.

@dromanocpm @elonmusk A lot rests I guess on what is actually shared at that point - so I see your point and wish I knew more there. What is sandboxed, what is shared?

@GaryMarcus @elonmusk Gary, this is for Apple functionality and is 100% unrelated to Elon’s complaint that an OS Level OpenAI Client that directs data out of the device and to OpenAI shouldn’t even be remotely considered, the fact it will exist is problematic for security. Elon is 100% justified here.

I think @elonmusk owes Apple an apology. I won’t say this is perfect (hackers will inevitably find problems), but it seems to me to be quite thoughtfully conceived, and likely is state of the art.
