Why hasn’t OpenAI released GPT-5?

Is it technical problem (they haven’t got it to work well enough yet), a safety issue (works already, but worried about safety), a political issue (no lie, I have heard this more than once) or something else?

@GaryMarcus I have been on several spaces on X where this is exactly the line of thinking. It's the "vibes economy" - trying to read tea leaves in Altman's cryptic statements, where vision casting and painting a picture of some utopian future.
