Ignoring and delegitimizing a candidacy is a way of suppressing it, and candidate suppression is a form of voter suppression. Those now claiming it was “cover up!” were essential to its success. 3/3

They amplified the idea that Biden was running unopposed (a lie and they knew it), de-amplifying with mockery and derision the idea that anyone else had credible ideas for how to defeat Trump in 2024. 2/3
