@GaryMarcus If you have ten year timelines, it's super irresponsible to not warn the public of dangers you see coming. It's stupid to reduce the xrisk debate to a timeline debate unless you're certain that it's hundred years or something.

Because they have wrapped themselves up in a tizzy by assuming that literally any sign of intelligence might mean that AGI could be here in two years via “fast takeoff”, and by dismissing literally every sign that it might not coming in two
