I just think this whole "they must use lidar" thing is misguided.

Surely they must get their error rates below some value. I don't care how they manage it.

@NathanpmYoung Supervised FSD ≠ driving genuinely unassisted, and the intervention rates as far as I understand them are orders of magnitude worse than Waymo.

It’s not something you can tell in a single ride.

@GaryMarcus Have you been in a tesla that uses supervised FSD. They are really good.

Maybe waymos are better (maybe) but Teslas are really good.

I think this kind of tweet seems to be a mistaken view of reality.
