@GaryMarcus The patent is the moat, not the technology. Building great technology by itself doesn’t lead to profitability (in the absence of a moat like patents or something else), as we can see from the OpenAI case.

@GaryMarcus There isn’t such thing as a “technical moat.” Technology never builds a moat by itself (people can copy it). There needs to be a “business moat” such as high switching costs that lock customers in. Successful technology companies aren’t successful because of their technology.
