Can’t believe how hurt Elon fans are by the fact that xai’s core technology is derivative, on techniques (1) developed by Google and (2) further developed by OpenAI long after he left.

Trying to give him a W for LLMs just isn’t grounded in reality.

*his* company is basically a copy of OpenAI and Anthropic, more chatbots trained on internet-scale data with giant clusters.

Bezos’s company is different, focused on domain-specific engineering problems. Makes a lot more sense to me, tbh.
