Crazy that someone as prominent as @tylercowen actually claimed o3 was AGI, when you see reports like this one (physics) from @skdh and realize how superficial it is, and realize that o3 can’t even reliably comply with the rules in chess.

o3 is impressive in its own ways. But

@GaryMarcus @DarioAmodei @sama @tylercowen @kevinroose I was working with o3 on some physics stuff yesterday. It is pretty good for looking up generic topics if you don't know a keyword. Like, it found me some references where someone had done something very similar that was actually useful.

But man, is it tedious to get it to come
