@JStoehler @ilex_ulmus i have asked folks like you a million times what goalposts have i moved and you never give any answer (beyond pointing to improvements on very specific examples which now form part of the training corpus).

@ilex_ulmus @GaryMarcus Dunno about the others, but I just think @GaryMarcus is moving goalposts, is less concrete than he can be, and isn't talking about important nor interesting topics most of the time. E.g. I always outpaced him at thinking about x-risk and didn't see much engagement from him.

I’m suspicious that a lot of x-risk people hate @GaryMarcus bc they want AI to be powerful instead of bc they are concerned about people underestimating the threat.
